Blood Obsession: SVU

Max drove. Bobbi sat in silence beside him. Holiday decorations decorated the streets. “Princess it is going to be okay I promise.” “Max, I’m still scared.”

The Manhattan Special Victims Squad was a decrepit office on the second floor of a Harlem building. Brad Dellecourt, Max’s old partner sat waiting for them. Brad smiled a taut grin at Max and extended his hand to Bobbi. He remembered her from the Emergency Room. Bobbi’s hands were clammy and cold. “Come let’s talk.” He pointed to an interview room. Grabbing an empty rolling chair for her he led her inside. “You don’t need to sit on one of those.” He pointed to a pair of hard chairs in the room. Max could not come in as he was her “outcry” the first person to hear her complete story. He had his own statement to make.

Brad closed the door. “Bobbi, I would like to record your statement if that’s all right.” Brad smiled reassuringly. She is a friend of a friend. Bobbi swallowed hard and nodded her head.

“Ok here we go.” Brad pressed the button to begin the recording.
“This Brad Dellecourt Detective Sergeant Manhattan Special Victims Unit. I am here with a 26 year old female Complainant. Please state your name for the record”
“Roberta Wallace, but please call me Bobbi.”
“Bobbi, do I have permission to record our conversation. And why are we here tonight?”
“Yes please record this. I need to report an assault.”
“Tell me what happened.”

And there it was, time for her story. “No one will believe you.” Andrew’s evil words, played like a looped recording.  Brad grabbed his pen and pad ready to let her tell her story without interruption.  Bobbi fiddled with the strap of her purse. “On October 21 at about 10:30 pm I returned home from work to my apartment.  It was pouring rain and all I wanted to do was eat something and go to bed. At the downstairs entrance,  Andrew Marcus surprised me. He was standing somewhere behind me.  He grabbed my gun off my left hip and pressed it into my side.” Brad scribbled “cop?” on his pad. “He forced me up to my third floor apartment by threatening to kill me or anyone who heard me scream. I let us in to the apartment asking him to please stop. I have known Andrew since I was five. I told him I hated him. He said I belonged to him. I would never belong to him. He was angry. He told me I was his.”

“You are doing fine Bobbi. There is no rush. Just take your time.”

“I was now scared. He told me I was his the day he made love to me on his yacht. Hell, I was 16. He was my first. She shook her head. “I tried to push him away and he struck me across my face. I tried to run down my hall and he grabbed me.  He forced me into my room and told me to take my clothes off. When I told him no he hit me in the head with the butt of my gun. I passed out.” Bobbi’s eyes filled with tears. “When I woke, I was naked face down on my bed. He was inside me. He had my hands behind my back held tightly by his hand. His right hand was holding my gun on the bed next to me. I felt raw inside. I begged him to stop. He came inside me. He pulled out. I was so nauseous. I pleaded with him. He yanked me down the bed and forced his way into my bottom.” Tears rolled down her cheeks. Brad handed her some tissues.

“Do you need a break Bobbi?” Brad’s voice was compassionate and soothing.

Shaking her head, “I’m ok. He pounded into me and held my hands over my head. He grabbed my gun and forced it into my vagina. I could feel him ripping me. I told him to stop and he asked me what was I going to do report him. He told me no one would believe me. We were lovers. He told me he would destroy Max, my family, my career and Max’s. He dropped my gun on the floor. He thrust more and came. He kissed me down my back and I relaxed enough to get my hands free. I pressed my knees into the bed and grasped his hand and as I pushed away I squeezed his thumb and yanked it down breaking it. I screamed at him to get out and he fled.

Brad pressed the recording off. “Let’s get you something to drink.” Brad stepped out into the squad room. Max was sitting at Brad’s desk. “Come sign this. It’s my statement. How is she?”

“She’s on the edge. When were you gonna tell me she’s on the job? Grab water out of my drawer and get in there. ” “Brad, let her tell you. We need to nail this sick bastard. I love her.” Brad stared at his friend. “We will Max.”

Max handed the bottle to Bobbi. He sat beside her and kissed her tear-stained cheek. “Princess I am here for you. Lean on me.” Bobbi grabbed his hands and placed her head against them. Closing her eyes, she wept.

Brad waited for Bobbi to catch her breath. She continued her statement from the hospital until her call from Andrew that evening. “Ok Bobbi I have a few more questions. Then I will write-up your statement and we will get Mr. Marcus arrested.
What do you do for a living that you carry a gun?”
“I am a New York City Police Officer assigned to the 10th precinct detective squad.”
“On the night of the assault did you drink any alcohol or take any medication?”
“No.”
“Now please sign this to release your kit from the hospital.” Brad passed her the form.”Did you have consensual vaginal or anal intercourse within 72 hours of the attack?
“No”.
“Did you clean your weapon?”
“Yes .” Bobbi looked grim.
Max swallowed hard. “Brad swabs of her gun and her bed sheet are entered in the 10th squad under a Jane Doe rape. I am sorry Princess. I wanted you to have options.” Max’s eyes asked for forgiveness.

“Max, one step ahead of me? She hugged him.

Brad finished the preliminary statement. for Bobbi to sign. In spite of her being on the job. He gently explained every step of what would happen next.

Max held her against him. The night air was freezing but Bobbi was no longer cold. Relief and love warmed her.

Blood Obsession: Fall Breezes

Bobbi steps into the stirrup and pops into the saddle. The chestnut stallion prances under her. A firm squeeze of her calves brings him under control. He is the latest member of her parent’s stable. Zeus stands tall, he senses the experienced rider.

Bobbi adjusts the reins and heads for the wooded trails that surround her parents property. The sun flickers through the golden tree leaves. A soft breeze blows brushing her cheeks like a gentle caress. The smell of moist dirt mixed with pine fills the air as she takes to the trail. A rock of her hips and a tap of her heel urges Zeus into a slow trot and then a gentle canter. Bobbi feels exhilarated.

Her mind flashes to her night before. Dinner with Andrew Marcus, a lawyer in her parents firm, son of a partner, childhood friend, her first lover and the man her parents want her to marry. She so misses Erik. “Why did I do that?” She urges the horse onward.

They sat at the table in the small French bistro. It was their first time seeing each other alone since Bobbi became a police officer. She wore a simple white blouse and navy pencil skirt and Steve Madden pumps. He wore a crisp Tom Ford suit. His black hair impeccably styled. He ordered off the menu in French. Their meal was accompanied by an incredibly delicious pinot noir. “It is so good to see you Roberta.” His voice smooth as silk. Bobbi sipped the wine. “Thank you Andrew. I promised my folks that I would get out more.” She smiled sweetly. “Ah a pity date.” He refilled her glass. “Andrew don’t do that. You an I have known each other since we were toddlers. I value you as a friend.” Andrew raised an eyebrow. “Roberta that is saying you like a specific brand of tires.” Bobbi rolled her eyes. They chatted amicably about her job and his, old friends and family.

“Crème Brule” the waiter served them the delectable dessert topped with fresh strawberries and a touch of whipped cream. Bobbi enjoyed the sweet treat. She felt the warmth of the wine moving through her body. “Darling, do you want to stop out for an after dinner drink?” Bobbi felt safe with him and agreed.

Andrew’s penthouse was a glass kaleidoscope. Walls of glass were illuminated by exquisite colors. A large amber leather couch dominated the living room. The walls were covered in original works of modern art. Bobbi sat comfortably on the couch. She sipped a glass of Cristal. The bubbles tickled her nose. She giggled. Andrew leered at her. He sat beside her. His hand drifted to her knee. “You look beautiful tonight.” Bobbi looked up at him. Andrew bent in to kiss her. Bobbi pushed him gently away. “Andrew, we shouldn’t. I don’t feel….” Andrew pushed her back into the cushions covering her mouth with his. The alcohol took over and she closed her eyes. Dreamily she visualized Erik. Wanting him and needing him. Andrew roughly opened her blouse. Pulling at her bra he twisted each nipple between his fingers. His hands moved greedily across her body. Hoisting up her skirt, he slipped his fingers under the lace of her panties. Bobbi responded unable to say no, the alcohol lowering her threshold. Andrew plied her until her body responded with it’s sweet wetness. Andrew tore at his trousers, and with one rapid thrust he pressed into her. Bobbi yelped at the invasion, now coming more alert. Her eyes flashed open as he thrust inside her. Tears dropped from her cheeks as he filled her. He smiled at her, mistaking her tears of regret for joy.

The tree lay across her path, Bobbi leaned into Zeus’s neck and flew over it. She pressed the graceful animal faster, unleashing her own anger at herself. She should have said no. She will never love him. But her parent’s. He’s safe. “I can’t fall in love again. I just can’t” Fresh tears coated her cheeks as she rode on.

Blood Obsession: Day at the range

The sun beat down on them. Its orange ball breathed fire. Bobbi stood with her cadet class listening to Sargent Curtis Montgomery from the firearms and tactics section speak about gun safety. This was the first live shoot at the Rodman’s Neck range. Bobbi stared at the basic circular paper target. They would be asked to hit center mass at the target. The statistics were appalling as most police officers could not hit the side of a barn in a crisis situation. “Concentration and focus.” Montgomery prattled on. Her group took position at the firing point. The instructors paced behind them. Goggles and ear protection on. Bobbi noticed Ken Wells two positions to her left. His hands were shaking. She shook her head. “Poor guy.” She thought as she gazed at another female cadet. Brittany Wilton.  Bottle blonde with a brain like a box of rocks. She thought her way through the academy was to shake and shimmy. “No wonder these guys think women cannot cut it.” Suddenly she felt warm breath against her neck, “Ready Wallace?” Ken George stood behind her. Gorgeous to look at. Ken stood like an Adonis. His ego matched his swagger. She was now the boar he was hunting. He towered above her and closed into her personal space. “It’s just your first time. Do not worry if you don’t do well. We can arrange for some extra practice if you need to.” “Thank you sir.” Bobbi bristled and stemmed the eye roll and the desire to kick him in the balls.

She checked her weapon. The Glock 19 9mm with 15 rounds was comfortable in her hand. This was not the first time she shot a pistol. “Eye wear on, Ear protection in, All Clear, Ready, Fire.” Montgomery commanded. Bobbi raised the pistol and fired. She sighted the first bullet as it pierced the target dead center.  Stifling the smile, she fired the remaining bullets in a perfect circle at the 2 inch radius. Upon completion, she placed the weapon down. “You are full of surprises Wallace.” Ken George sneered into her hair. Bobbi raised an eyebrow. “Yes sir.”

The long day complete Bobbi returned to her parent’s penthouse. She dropped her pack and collapsed onto the stunning black couch plopping her feet on the glass coffee table. She starred exhaustedly at the city skyline. “This would kill them.” Her eyes closed as she fell into a deep sleep.

Blood Obsession

The offshore breeze blew softly. The sails of the boat rippled gently in the wind. Bobbi lay dozing on the deck. Her eyes dampened by tears of her last memories of Erik. She loved him and tomorrow would keep her solemn    promise. The police academy beckoned her to begin a new life. Today she remembered his touch. His caress made her quake with desire. They made love that last morning together. His naked body glistened with sweat from their passion. She watched him leave their apartment never to feel his breath against her again.
